The Site Budget Management Analyst supports the financial planning, analysis, and oversight of global clinical trial site budgets. This role focuses on analyzing clinical site financial data, developing budgets, forecasting costs, and providing operational insights across site budgets, investigator grants, contracts, and site payments. The analyst serves as a strategic analytical partner to Clinical Operations, Business Operations, and leadership by transforming complex clinical financial data into clear, actionable insights that enable efficient budget development, accurate site payment forecasting, and financial transparency across global clinical studies. The position also develops site-level financial models, monthly life cycle forecasts, and analytical dashboards to support study planning, financial risk identification, and data-driven operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support the financial planning, analysis, and oversight of global clinical trial site budgets.
• Analyze clinical site financial data related to site budgets, investigator grants, contracts, and site payments.
• Develop site-level financial models to support study planning and budget optimization.
• Create and maintain monthly life cycle forecasts for global clinical studies.
• Build and manage analytical dashboards and reports that provide visibility into clinical financial performance.
• Provide strategic analytical support to Clinical Operations, Business Operations, and leadership teams.
• Transform complex clinical financial data into actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Support the development of accurate site payment forecasts and financial transparency across studies.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities within clinical trial budgets and site payments.
• Use advanced Microsoft Excel to build models, pivot tables, and formulas in real time during meetings.
• Leverage clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and clinical financial tools to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align financial planning with operational objectives.
• Communicate financial findings and recommendations clearly through written reports and presentations.
• Ensure high data accuracy and attention to detail in all financial analyses and models.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in clinical trial financial operations, clinical site budgeting, forecasting, clinical payments, contracts, or financial analysis within pharmaceutical environments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including building financial models, creating pivot tables, and developing formulas.
• Experience building financial models and forecasting tools.
• Experience working with a clinical trial management system (CTMS) and understanding its use in clinical operations.
• Experience building dashboards and analytical reporting for financial and operational insights.
• Experience with clinical financial tools such as ClearTrial, Medidata, CTMS, or site payment platforms.
• Strong financial modeling and forecasting capability.
• Ability to interpret clinical trial financial structures and cost drivers.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in small pharmaceutical company environments is strongly preferred.
• Prior exposure to clinical research and clinical trial finance is beneficial.
• Familiarity with data analysis and financial planning in a clinical trial context.
• Comfort working in a dynamic environment where new processes and structures are being built.
• PharmD or related life sciences or finance education is advantageous, where applicable.

Work Environment

The role operates within a collaborative, long-term focused environment that is building new capabilities in site budget management and clinical financial operations. The position is based in the United States, with an expectation of flexibility in working hours to support collaboration across multiple time zones. The work relies heavily on advanced Microsoft Excel, clinical trial management systems, and clinical financial tools such as ClearTrial, Medidata, CTMS, and site payment platforms. The culture emphasizes partnership with Clinical Operations and Business Operations, data-driven decision-making, and a high standard of financial transparency and accuracy.

This is a Contract position based out of Princeton, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
