Summary: Celebrate Christmas by being a part of our NEW Stars, Lights & Christmas Nights Parade™. We are looking for energetic and outgoing individuals who enjoy interacting with our guests and helping Create Memories Worth Repeating™. Applicants must always remain alert and aware of surroundings, helping to identify and communicate potential safety hazards to drivers as well as other handlers. Must feel comfortable communicating via a two-way radio. Handlers will complete the route twice per night walking up to 3 miles per shift.

This is a Seasonal position with evening hours.

This position begins 10/23/2026 and ends 1/2/2027.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Serve as a Float Handler during parade operations, assisting with the safe movement of parade floats along the parade route.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with float drivers, fellow handlers, and parade leadership using a two-way radio to ensure safe and efficient parade operations.
  • Maneuver alongside parade floats while monitoring the route for guests, obstacles, or any conditions that may hinder the parade's safe passage.
  • Observe all safety and security procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions or concerns.
  • Monitor float spacing and relay information regarding stops, starts, route changes, and operational issues as needed.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and respond promptly and professionally to guest needs.
  • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Effectively handle situations involving a limited number of variables within established procedures and guidelines.
  • Display initiative, sound judgment, and creativity while supporting parade operations.
  • Treat guests, performers, and fellow team members with respect while upholding organizational values.
  • Participate in rehearsals and learn parade routes, procedures, and blocking as directed by the Director or designated leadership.
  • Remain alert, professional, and focused throughout rehearsals and performances to help ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift and/or move 10 pounds frequently to 100 pounds maximum
  • The ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and concrete continuously
  • The ability to walk up to 3 miles nightly
  • The ability to remember locations, understand and carry out instructions continuously
  • The ability to work in extreme weather continuously
  • The ability to work at a rapid speed continuously

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including cold temperatures, rain, wind, and occasional snow. Evening shifts are required. Work involves exposure to loud music, flashing lights, and large crowds. The role requires constant mobility throughout the park and along the designated parade route. Float handlers will be near moving parade floats and must always remain alert. Interaction with guests is frequent and requires friendly, outgoing demeanor. Costumes and uniform pieces may be required and must be worn for the duration of the shift. Team-based environment with a strong emphasis on communication, collaboration, and safety.
