Step into a meaningful role supporting student success by facilitating communication as a contract Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting near Eden Prairie, MN. As an American Sign Language Interpreter, you'll play a crucial part in helping a high-school student access their education and fully participate in the classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Possession of at least a 4.0 EIPA, required for Minnesota (strong experience may be considered with a slightly lower score)
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational environments is highly desirable
  • Ability to work effectively with high-school aged students
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing accurate, impartial ASL interpretation in the classroom and during school-related activities
  • Facilitating clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
  • Supporting the student’s understanding of lessons, instructions, and classroom discussions
  • Collaborating with educational staff to ensure accessibility for the student
  • Maintaining professional standards and complying with school policies
  • Adhering to the classroom schedule, from 8:15 am to 3:05 pm each school day
