Sign Design & Production Specialist – Signarama Kannapolis
Signarama Kannapolis is a new, locally owned store from the world's largest sign and graphics franchise, opening at 471 N Cannon Blvd. We're hiring an experienced Sign Design & Production Specialist to run our shop: taking customer artwork through design, print, finishing, and installation.
This is a hands-on production role. You must already have:
- 1+ years in a sign shop, print shop, or large-format graphics environment
- Hands-on experience running a large-format printer, vinyl plotter, and laminator
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW for print-ready sign files (vector, bleed, outlined fonts)
- The ability to take a job from customer artwork to finished sign without step-by-step supervision
This is an in-person position at our Kannapolis shop. It is not a remote, UX, web, or digital-only design role.
What you'll do
- Design and lay out signs of all types: vinyl, digital prints, banners, window and vehicle graphics, dimensional and exterior signage
- Operate and maintain production equipment: printer, plotter, laminator, panel saw, trimmers, hand tools
- Prep customer files for print; clean up or recreate logos as needed
- Mask, weed, and apply vinyl; print, mount, trim, and finish digital graphics
- Travel locally to measure sites, assist with estimates, and perform installations
- Keep equipment in good working order and the shop clean and organized
- Monitor materials and reorder before you run out
- Greet customers and answer phones professionally when the front counter needs backup
What we offer
- $18–$22/hour, based on experience
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, daytime hours

- A new store where you set up the shop your way, with the owner on-site daily for the morning huddle and two full days a week
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW; FlexiSign or similar RIP software a plus
- Experience with vinyl application, lamination, mounting to substrates, and basic fabrication
- Strong math and measurement skills; careful spelling and proofing
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working independently and solving problems in the shop
Compensation: $18.00–$22.00 per hour
