    About the Role

    Picture your morning in the Polymer Center: you connect to a Siemens S7-1200/1500 in TIA Portal, review alarms from an HMI, and trace a signal path that keeps a blow molder running at peak efficiency. As our PLC/HMI Automation Technician, you ensure control systems run reliably, production stays on schedule, and improvements never stop.

    Day-to-Day Impact

    • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and HMI control systems (Siemens S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal) to support manufacturing operations.
    • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on control networks, electrical systems, and automated equipment.
    • Download, back up, and modify PLC logic to maintain system integrity and uninterrupted operations.
    • Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on blow molders, material transfer, and resin handling systems.
    • Install, test, and commission new equipment and automation upgrades.
    • Replace and configure PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs; work with starters, fuses, contacts, and relays.
    • Partner with IT, OEMs, and vendors to resolve complex control system challenges.
    • Monitor performance, drive root cause analysis, and implement failure-prevention measures.
    • Collaborate with production to make rapid, data-driven decisions during equipment upsets.
    • Contribute to capital projects: new installations, line upgrades, and automation improvements.
    • Support maintenance with mold changes, mechanical adjustments, welding, and fabrication.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMP standards, and company policies.
    • Mentor less experienced technicians and maintenance teammates.
    • Continuously seek system optimization and reliability enhancements.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

    What You Bring

    • Solid understanding of industrial controls, automation, and electrical/electronic troubleshooting; proficiency with Siemens S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal, and HMI applications.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, tag references, and OEM manuals.
    • Proven skill diagnosing complex control/electrical failures and implementing effective fixes.
    • Strength in triaging malfunctions, prioritizing repairs, and optimizing system performance.
    • Accuracy in programming, documentation, and maintaining configurations and backups.
    • Clear written and verbal communication across production, maintenance, IT, and leadership.
    • Capacity to manage multiple repairs and PMs while meeting production deadlines.
    • Competency with multimeters and diagnostic tools; safe work practices up to 480VAC.
    • Hands-on experience with VFDs, drives, level probes, flow meters, and related instrumentation.
    • Basic mathematical skills.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 4 - 7 years in industrial manufacturing controls, automation maintenance, or electrical/electronic troubleshooting.
    • OSHA forklift certification required.

    Shift: 1st shift Mon-Fri

    Compensation: Starting at $42
