About the Role
Step into a hands-on role focused on established Siemens automation. Each day, you’ll connect with legacy Siemens S7-300 racks, open SIMATIC STEP 7 (Classic, v5.x), and dive into live logic to keep production moving for a customer near our Greer, SC office.
A Day in the Life
- Attach to S7-300 controllers and evaluate ladder/FB/FC logic; adjust and optimize code in STEP 7 (v5.x) to stabilize operations.
- Chase down I/O anomalies and recover sequences; pinpoint and resolve communication issues across PROFIBUS-DP and PROFINET networks.
- Partner on the production floor to implement real-time changes, support line recoveries, and execute targeted process improvements.
- Read electrical schematics to trace signals, validate wiring, and remedy hardware-related control issues.
What You Bring
- Direct, proven experience programming and troubleshooting Siemens S7-300 with SIMATIC STEP 7 (Classic).
- Strong grasp of industrial communications, especially PROFIBUS-DP and PROFINET topologies and diagnostics.
- Calm under pressure—able to diagnose downtime rapidly and implement safe, effective logic changes on the spot.
- Comfort with electrical/electronic systems, industrial power and controls, and field service readiness.
Location Requirement
This is an on-site role supporting a customer local to our Greer, SC office. Candidates must live within daily commuting distance. Travel/per diem is not available.
