Position Summary
The Hotel Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation for hotel guests, airline flight crews, and other authorized passengers. The Shuttle Driver represents the hotel while operating hotel vehicles and is expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and safe vehicle, and communicate effectively with the Front Desk and hotel management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely transport hotel guests and airline flight crews to and from the hotel, airport, and approved local destinations.
- Follow all hotel shuttle schedules, procedures, and designated transportation routes.
- Monitor flight arrivals and departures to assist with timely transportation for airline crews.
- Communicate with the Front Desk regarding guest pickup requests, flight crew transportation, delays, and changes in schedule.
- Answer and monitor the designated shuttle phone and respond promptly to transportation requests.
- Maintain accurate shuttle logs, including pickup and drop-off times, passenger information when required, and mileage.
- Assist guests and flight crew members with luggage when appropriate and within hotel procedures.
- Provide courteous, professional, and welcoming service to every passenger.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable shuttle vehicle at all times.
- Complete required vehicle inspections before operating the shuttle.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues, damage, safety concerns, or mechanical problems immediately to management.
- Follow all traffic laws, hotel safety policies, and company procedures.
- Maintain awareness of weather, traffic, construction, and other conditions that may affect transportation times.
- Assist guests with directions and general hotel information when requested.
- Coordinate with the Front Desk when passengers are delayed, unable to be located, or transportation plans change.
- Ensure the shuttle is parked and secured properly when not in use
Flight Crew Responsibilities
- Monitor scheduled airline crew transportation needs.
- Coordinate closely with the Front Desk regarding crew pickup and drop-off times.
- Communicate delays or changes immediately to the hotel team.
- Ensure flight crew members are transported according to established hotel and airline procedures.
- Provide professional service while respecting crew members' need for timely and efficient transportation.
The Shuttle Driver is expected to:
- Greet guests and crew members in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide a positive first and last impression of the hotel.
- Be dependable, punctual, and attentive to transportation schedules.
- Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and refer issues to management when necessary.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a hotel shuttle vehicle.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage changing transportation needs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and assist with luggage as required.
- Previous hotel, transportation, customer service, or airline crew experience is preferred but not required.
