Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Volunteer Services program through the coordination of volunteer recruitment, onboarding, placement, compliance, communication, and ongoing operational support. This position serves as the primary contact for prospective and active volunteers, ensuring an efficient and welcoming experience throughout the volunteer lifecycle.
The Coordinator collaborates with volunteers, department leaders, community partners, and Volunteer Services team members to support volunteer placement, maintain compliance with organizational requirements, and provide exceptional customer service. Through effective coordination of daily operations, the Volunteer Coordinator helps ensure volunteers are prepared, supported, and positioned to make meaningful contributions throughout the health system.

Job Requirements
Work Experience • Experience in Microsoft Office programs • Experience working in a professional setting • Experience working with a CRM system or other relational database preferred • Experience with supporting and planning special events preferred • Experience working with volunteers preferred • LEAN experience to apply to work projects preferred Education • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; OR Associate's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. • Bachelor's degree preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Ability to present a happy, welcoming image of self and department to every person, every time. • Strong written and verbal abilities, with comfort in public speaking/presentation skills. • Ability to manage projects, involve others in the planning and execution, and pro-actively communicate with leader and team. • Proficient and accurate typing skills • Ability to create correspondence with compelling content. • Excellent judgment pertaining to sensitive matters and ability to keep information confidential. • Ability to use feedback positively to grow and improve. • Must be able to work with a diverse population of volunteers with various skills and abilities.
