Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Under the direction of the Gift Shop Supervisor, the Gift Shop Specialist greets and assists customers, maintain an organized and clean store, stock/restock inventory, process sales transactions, and provide exceptional customer service.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has a passion for sales and customer service, has a great eye for understanding retail best practices, has a knack for visually displaying merchandise to optimize sales, and is interested in joining a large healthcare system.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Team members may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • None Work Experience • Minimum one year of retail experience • Previous retail or customer service experience - preferred • Experience working with Volunteers - preferred • Experience within a healthcare system - preferred • Experience using a point-of-sale system - preferred Education • High school diploma or GED. • Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, or Hospitality - preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work evenings and weekends is required. • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Basic computer skills. • Develop and maintain positive relationships. • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. • Ability to make decisions independently. • Schedule flexibility M-F with primary availability of evenings and at least one weekend day. • Ability to lift 25 pounds
