Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Under the direction of the Gift Shop Supervisor, the Gift Shop Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the UM Health-Sparrow Gift Shop, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient inventory management, and effective volunteer coordination.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

Job Requirements
General Requirements • None Work Experience • Minimum of 2 years of retail experience, including: o Experience with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and tracking merchandise. o Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems. o Customer service experience in a retail environment. • 3-5 years retail sales experience - preferred. • Experience in volunteer management or supervision - preferred. Education • High school diploma or GED. • Associate's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field - preferred. Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Develop and maintain working relationships with management, volunteers, staff, and customers that supports a positive "team" work environment. • Possess sound business judgment, decision making skills, exercise professional conduct, understand and follow business ethics and standards, and maintain a high level of confidentiality in all duties. • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills, and strong organizational skills with acuity for detail. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with little supervision. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Schedule flexibility M-F with availability of evenings and weekends when needed. • Promote and demonstrate consistent selling and service standards through communication, training and individual accountability. • Proficiency in using computers and POS systems. • Retail software/POS knowledge - preferred. • Merchandise and Inventory control - preferred. • Product knowledge and sales skills - preferred.
