    Job Summary

    • Support Designers and Design Engineers in developing cost-effective product designs.
    • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
    • Develop cost targets and should-cost models for mechanical and electrical engine components.
    • Support Value Analysis (VA), Value Engineering (VE), benchmarking, and cost reduction activities.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Guide engineering teams on new and modified designs to achieve required functionality at minimum cost.
    • Apply DFA/DFM tools and recommend design improvements.
    • Support Design-to-Target activities during early product development.
    • Develop cost targets for mechanical components:
      • Castings
      • Stamped parts
      • Extrusions
      • Injection-molded parts
    • Develop cost targets for electrical components:
      • Harnesses
      • PCBs / PCB Assemblies
      • DC Motors
      • Batteries
    • Prepare should-cost analysis reports for Procurement and supplier negotiations.
    • Conduct competitive benchmarking and teardown analysis.
    • Develop and maintain should-cost models.
    • Participate in VA/VE activities and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
    • Present monthly project cost updates, risks, and opportunities to management.
    • Provide cost information to Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, and Management teams.
    • Prepare monthly cost reports and product cost tracking.
    Required Skills & Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
    • 7 10 years of industry experience.
    • Proficiency in BDI (Boothroyd Dewhurst), A-priori, or similar costing software.
    • Ability to read and understand engineering/manufacturing drawings.
    • Strong understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM).
    • Practical experience with VA/VE techniques.
    • Strong financial and cost-analysis awareness.
    • Working knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably Creo.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Casting
      • Stamping
      • Injection Molding
      • Extrusion
      • PCBA manufacturing
      • Related materials
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
