Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Shop Helper to join a busy fabrication and manufacturing operation in Sapulpa. This position supports skilled craftsmen with daily shop activities, material handling, tool operation, and general production responsibilities while maintaining established safety, quality, and productivity standards.
This is a hands-on industrial position involving work around cranes, forklifts, power equipment, and fabrication operations. The ideal candidate has basic shop or fabrication experience, knows how to use a tape measure, and is motivated to learn additional manufacturing and skilled-trade responsibilities.
Required Experience & Skills
Basic fabrication, manufacturing, or shop experience
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Ability to read and follow basic shop instructions
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to follow established production and quality requirements
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Comfortable working around cranes, forklifts, and industrial equipment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist skilled craftsmen with daily fabrication and shop activities
Provide general production and material-handling support
Gather and stage materials, components, and tools for assigned work
Use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Measure materials and components accurately using a tape measure
Assist with moving and positioning materials throughout the shop
Work safely around cranes, forklifts, and power equipment
Follow work instructions and established production procedures
Maintain productivity while meeting company quality standards
Identify and report material, equipment, quality, or safety concerns
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Support craftsmen and production employees in completing projects efficiently
Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE
Perform additional fabrication, shop, and production duties as assigned
Shop & Fabrication Skills
Candidates should have experience with or be willing to learn:
Basic fabrication processes
Hand and power tools
Tape measure reading
Material handling
Crane operations
Shop equipment
Production work instructions
Quality requirements
General manufacturing procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Previous fabrication shop experience
Manufacturing or industrial production experience
Overhead crane experience
Forklift or material-handling experience
Experience using grinders and other power tools
Basic blueprint or shop drawing experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Interest in developing additional skilled fabrication experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain physically active throughout an extended shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle fabrication materials and components
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around cranes, forklifts, power equipment, and industrial machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding shop work throughout the shift
Work Environment
