Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Shop Helper to join a busy fabrication operation in Sapulpa. This position supports skilled craftsmen with fabrication, material handling, equipment operation, and general shop responsibilities while maintaining established safety, quality, and productivity standards.
This is a safety-sensitive position involving work around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, power tools, automated equipment, and other industrial processes. The ideal candidate has basic fabrication shop experience, is comfortable using tools and measuring equipment, and is motivated to learn additional skilled-trade responsibilities.
Required Experience & Skills
Basic fabrication shop experience
Ability to safely operate or work around overhead cranes and industrial equipment
Experience using hand and power tools
Ability to accurately read and use a shop tape measure
Ability to read and write basic shop communications
Ability and willingness to learn how to read shop drawings
Ability to learn and understand Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Strong attention to safety and quality
Ability to follow work instructions and established procedures
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist skilled craftsmen with assigned fabrication and production activities
Provide materials, tools, and general support throughout the fabrication process
Safely operate power tools and shop equipment as trained and authorized
Assist with overhead crane operations and material movement
Measure materials and components using a tape measure
Follow shop drawings, work instructions, and Bills of Materials as skills develop
Maintain productivity according to established company requirements
Ensure completed work meets company quality standards
Support efficient completion of project assignments
Communicate effectively with craftsmen, supervisors, and other production employees
Identify and report material, equipment, quality, or safety concerns
Maintain clean and organized work areas according to 5S requirements
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Perform additional fabrication, material-handling, and shop duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
Previous fabrication shop experience
Manufacturing or industrial production experience
Overhead crane experience
Forklift or material-handling experience
Experience using grinders and other power tools
Basic blueprint or shop drawing experience
Familiarity with Bills of Materials
Mechanical aptitude and interest in developing skilled fabrication experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain physically active throughout an extended shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle fabrication materials and components
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around cranes, forklifts, trucks, automated equipment, and industrial machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding shop work throughout the workday
Work Environment
Industrial fabrication and manufacturing environment
Regular work around overhead cranes, forklifts, power tools, automated equipment, and heavy materials
Hands-on position supporting skilled craftsmen and production operations
