Shipping Supervisor

$60-65K plus multiple bonus’

Oversees the daily operations of the shipping department, manages warehouse personnel, and ensures that finished products are safely, accurately, and efficiently dispatched to customers. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading warehouse staff, coordinating logistics, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations, optimizes shipping workflows, and collaborates with production and quality teams to meet delivery schedules.  

Responsibilities

·         Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate shipping clerks, forklift drivers, and material handlers.

 

·         Daily Operations: Schedule and oversee the loading, unloading, and staging of all outgoing shipments.

 

·         Logistics: Carrier communication to schedule pickups, and track deliveries.

Verify accuracy of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and customs documents.

 

·         Inventory Control: Conduct cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with the  

 

·         Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper forklift operations.

 

·         Process Improvement: Implement warehousing practices to reduce waste and increase shipping efficiency.

 

·         Collaboration: Work with Production, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service to resolve shipping delays. 

 

Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.

·         3+ years of warehouse or shipping experience in a manufacturing environment, with 1+ years in a leadership role.

·         Proficiency with PCs, including Email, Microsoft Office and other applications

Strong verbal and written skills to interact with carriers, team members, and management
OSHA safety certification is preferred 
Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Assistant will be provided, if necessary

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Manufacturing Supervisor with CNC Set-up/Programming experience.   The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in manufacturing supervision with the ability to operate CNC machinery and supervise CNC operators. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in a supportive and hands-on manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Oversee production functions in roughing and machining.

·         Establish manufacturing priorities and allocate the resources.

·         Direct and mentor staff to produce quality products on time.

·         Assist and train operators in the setup and programming of CNC machines. 

·         Set up and program machines on an ongoing basis.

·         Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and inspection plans.

·         Load/unload parts, inspect work using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).

·         Monitor machines for proper operation and remediate issues.

·         Perform basic machine maintenance (change tooling, clean area, etc.).

·         Keep accurate records of work performed and parts produced

 

Additional Responsibilities 

·         Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedure.

·         Establish and maintain a standard of performance for the operation.

·         Set up and implement standard operating procedures for all production operations.

·         Ensure products are produced on time and are of good quality.

·         Drive accountability using coaching and support and performance management.

·         Assess operations staffing and skill requirements. Develop plans to address needs.

·         Implement manufacturing best practice tools and processes.

·         Ensure compliance with environmental policies, systems and processes.

·         Drive process improvement.

 

Qualifications:

·       3 years supervisory experience (5 to 8 employees)

·       10 years of CNC machine setup and programming experience.

·       Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls is a plus.

·       Strong attention to detail and quality.

·       Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
