An established manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Shipping Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 25 employees and oversee daily shipping department operations.
This position is ideal for a strong leader who knows how to communicate effectively, motivate employees, maintain accountability, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
The company is looking for someone with excellent people-management abilities and the potential to grow into a higher-level management position. Prior shipping industry experience is not necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for a capable supervisor looking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a shipping department team of approximately 25 employees.
- Oversee daily workflow and ensure shipping operations run efficiently.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor employee performance and productivity.
- Maintain clear communication with employees and department leadership.
- Ensure employees follow established procedures and workplace expectations.
- Address operational challenges and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain team accountability, attendance, and productivity standards.
- Support employee training, development, and performance improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and team performance.
- Foster a positive, organized, and productive work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership potential for future advancement into management.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of approximately 25 employees.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence in making decisions and addressing workplace challenges.
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Dependable, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Strong potential and ambition to grow into a management position.
- Manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus.
- Previous shipping experience is not required.
