Shipping & Receiving - Warehouse Clerk

Overview:

StaffBuffalo is working with a global manufacturing and engineering services organization to hire a Shipping & Receiving - Warehouse Clerk in Tonawanda, NY, paying $21.00 to $27.00/hour; depending on experience. This Shipping & Receiving - Warehouse Clerk role is responsible for processing incoming materials, categorizing, storing, and moving materials, and arranging outbound shipments while adhering to company policies and ISO standards.

In this Shipping & Receiving - Warehouse Clerk role, you will verify incoming packaging and packing slips, receive and label parts, route materials to the appropriate location, prepare outbound products for shipment, and coordinate shipments with UPS, FedEx, and dedicated or LTL freight carriers. You will also create and arrange part bins, fulfill pick tickets, deliver materials to manufacturing areas, and stage larger items in designated storage locations.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, perform accurate data entry and parts counting, and use basic Microsoft Office programs.

This is an in-person, on-site role in the Northtowns.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify incoming packaging is sound and undamaged upon arrival, and confirm packing slips match received contents, including quantities, part numbers, and descriptions.
  • Receive and correctly label all incoming parts, then route them to the appropriate location, including inspection, assembly bins, or the manufacturing floor.
  • Verify all required outbound shipping paperwork is provided and complete before shipment, and carefully pack outbound products using appropriate materials and customer-specific packaging instructions.
  • Arrange outbound shipments with freight providers, including UPS, FedEx, and dedicated or LTL carriers.
  • Create and arrange part bins for incoming project materials and stage larger items in pallet racks or other designated storage locations.
  • Fulfill pick tickets by pulling materials and delivering them to the designated manufacturing area.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong attention to detail when performing data entry or counting parts.
  • At least beginner-level skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, plus Adobe Reader.
  • Familiarity with shipping software, UPS, and FedEx; knowledge and experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and strapping tools is preferred.
  • Understanding of import and export controls for outgoing shipments, including paperwork required for international shipments, is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent planning and organizational skills.
