Location: Oro Valley, AZ
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience

FAA SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION – SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING

Position Summary

The FAA Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for processing daily outbound shipments and receiving incoming materials, components, and units requiring repair. This role involves verifying shipment documentation, maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records, coordinating transportation, and ensuring all materials are handled in accordance with company policies, FAA regulations, quality standards, and safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience with shipping, receiving, and returns processing in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process outbound shipments using FedEx, UPS, and other designated shipping procedures.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, components, and units requiring repair.
  • Verify shipping and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking information.
  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure inventory records in Visual ERP are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance team on incoming materials, Air Waybill approvals, and shipment tracking.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming materials in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Ensure all parts and components are properly tagged, labeled, and identified.
  • Maintain organized storage and proper handling of aircraft materials and components.
  • Assist in developing and improving shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Follow all company policies, FAA requirements, safety regulations, and Drug-Free Workplace guidelines.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Be available to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or returns processing.
  • Proficiency with computers and data-entry systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret shipping documentation and make accurate shipping and receiving decisions.
  • Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS), safety regulations, operating instructions, quality standards, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and professional correspondence.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Must comply with all FAA safety-sensitive requirements and Drug-Free Workplace policies.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must successfully pass all required drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and additional hours as required.
  • Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
