    Shipping & Receiving Clerk

    Position Summary

    The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, storing, and shipping products and materials accurately and efficiently. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting the service, parts, and production departments while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and condition against packing slips and purchase orders.
    • Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
    • Accurately enter receiving and shipping information into the company inventory system.
    • Label, organize, and stock inventory in designated warehouse locations.
    • Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments using appropriate packaging methods.
    • Coordinate shipments with freight carriers, parcel services, and local delivery providers.
    • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
    • Assist parts, service, and production departments by locating and delivering needed materials.
    • Keep the warehouse, receiving dock, and shipping areas clean, organized, and safe.
    • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
    • Dispose of packaging materials and maintain recycling procedures when applicable.
    • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
    • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
    • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
    • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic mathematical and inventory counting skills.
    • Dependable with excellent attendance.
