SHIPPING/ RECEIVING MANAGER

Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Warehouse Manager oversees the warehouse's daily operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves managing warehouse staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimizing warehouse processes to meet company goals.

Essential Functions
Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve productivity and quality standards.
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and coordinate with procurement and operations teams to manage stock levels.
Ensure warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Ensure proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory status, and staff productivity.
Coordinate with logistics and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Assist in managing warehouse budgets, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
Lead lean initiatives within warehouse operations by driving 5S, standard work, visual management, and waste reduction activities to improve safety, flow, and overall operational performance.
Champion continuous improvement efforts by analyzing warehouse metrics, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective actions to enhance productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipment performance.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years' manufacturing experience in shipping or materials management within a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
Experience with warehouse management systems, SAP, and inventory software.
Excellent leadership and team management skills; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.
Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive changes.
Must have strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement, and program management.
Strong analytical skills and working with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
APICS certification is a plus, but not required
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Physical ability to oversee warehouse activities and operate equipment

We are looking for someone to:
  • Lead and manage warehouse, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations, overseeing a team of 34 employees, including 9–10 direct reports.
  • Drive transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations, focusing on process optimization, operational efficiency, and digital modernization.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transportation strategies, carrier selection, freight optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, material control, and effective warehouse management practices.
  • Oversee daily warehouse execution, including picking operations supporting both production and customer shipments.
  • Monitor and manage daily operational performance against established plans and key performance metrics.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, ergonomics, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Lead organizational change efforts by coaching, mentoring, and developing teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable import/export regulations, inventory controls, and company policies; familiarity with ITAR and SOX requirements preferred.
  • Utilize ERP and warehouse management systems (SAP experience required; Precision transportation software preferred).
  • Serve as a strategic leader and change agent, capable of building relationships, driving cultural improvements, and implementing scalable processes that support long-term business objectives.
