About the Role

The Shipping & Receiving Associate supports onsite warehouse and logistics operations by receiving, processing, shipping, and delivering packages and freight across a multi-building campus. This position works with parcel carriers, freight deliveries, internal customers, laboratories, and controlled work areas while maintaining accurate package records and following established safety procedures.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, scan, sort, and stage incoming packages, mail, and freight for internal delivery.
  • Deliver packages, freight, confidential materials, and time-sensitive shipments to offices, labs, and other campus locations.
  • Prepare domestic and international shipments using FedEx Ship Manager, including packaging, labeling, customs documentation, returns, and carrier pickups.
  • Research and resolve missing, damaged, misrouted, or unidentified shipments using PodTrackers, carrier systems, and internal records.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and a straight/box truck to move materials and make deliveries between campus buildings.
  • Receive and handle specialized shipments, including temperature-sensitive, hazardous, biological, chemical, dry ice, and radioactive materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain package, freight, delivery, and dock records and provide proof-of-delivery information when requested.
  • Stock and maintain office and printer supply inventory.
  • Assist with internal moves and movement of larger materials or equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, carriers, and customers by email and in person.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe dock, warehouse, and mailroom work areas.
  • Support opening/closing duties and provide coverage at other onsite locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver''s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Minimum one year of verifiable experience driving similar-sized vehicles within the last three years.
  • Ability to safely operate a straight truck up to 26,000 GVWR.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in narrow passageways.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and perform frequent walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, loading, and unloading.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including warehouse, dock, office, laboratory, and controlled environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, computer skills, and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or package distribution operations preferred.

"The pay range for this position starts at $21 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered."
