Position Summary
The Shipping / Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating all shipping and receiving activities with customers, vendors, and carriers. This position ensures accurate order entry, inventory tracking, shipment processing, and timely customer communication while supporting production and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with customers, vendors, and freight carriers.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, part numbers, and documentation.
- Enter customer orders and receiving transactions into the company's ERP/MRP system.
- Verify part status, production progress, and inventory information within the ERP/MRP system.
- Provide customers with status updates regarding order receipt, production progress, and shipment schedules.
- Prepare shipping documentation including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and customers.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory transactions.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and customer service teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and communicate issues promptly to customers and management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or customer service in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer communication abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
