POSITION OVERVEW & PURPOSE:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk prepares and ships hollow metal door products according to documented procedures and customer orders.
The role maintains accurate shipment records, closes completed orders, and initiates invoicing under the supervision of the Shipping
Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for meeting customer shipping requirements and responding via communication outlets in a professional, polite, and
helpful manner when dealing with customers.
• Verify that outgoing shipments are properly packaged, identified, and accurately filled by comparing items and quantities against
provided documents. This will include completing bill of lading as appropriate for shipments.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate skids are properly loaded and accurate for daily shipments.
• Schedule material pickups with various transporting companies (UPS, Federal Express, etc.).
• Maintain required records of goods shipped.
• Follow job orders according to customer specifications on the daily travelers.
• May require retrieval of door parts necessary for completion of finished door product.
• Understand and identify all components that comprise the finished product as described in the SDI handbook.
• Report production and quality data as dictated in daily travelers to supervisor.
• Always maintain an organized work environment, may require inspection by the Leadership Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team to support company goals.
• Participation in Mesker Safety Program.
Based on proficiency may be required to train on Shipping Clerk workstations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Operate simple hand or power tools to pack/move required door materials.
• Handle materials such as metal, poly, glue, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds repetitively.
• Must be able to push and/or pull carts up to 75 pounds.
• Must use and be able to work with required PPE.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• The noise level of the warehouse is moderate to loud.
• Based on proficiency could work under heavy to limited supervision.
• Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Depending on experience could be required to shadow one or more workstations above.
• Routine assessments of workstation proficiency are conducted – individual must pass one or more workstations as listed above.
• Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions and standard work tickets.
• Must possess basic computer skills, basic math skills required, proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a group environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational skills related to managing paperwork and time
Must pass a background check
Must have Steeled-toed boots

Schedule & Pay

  • Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

  • Pay: $18.00/hr
