Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Nesco Resource is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk located in Danbury, CT. This is a temp to perm position for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM

Pay: Starting at $19.25/Hour. Could be more depending on the candidate.

Job Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory control, order fulfillment, and preparing products for delivery. This position works closely with warehouse personnel, supervisors, and outside carriers to ensure materials and finished products are accurately processed, packaged, and shipped on schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Load, unload, pack, wrap, label, stage, and ship products according to established schedules.
• Receive, inspect, label, and properly store incoming materials and warehouse stock.
• Pick and prepare materials, tools, and products for internal and customer orders.
• Assist with kitting and staging materials for production or shipment.
• Perform inventory transactions, inventory checks, and daily cycle counts.
• Compare identifying information, quantities, weights, and measurements against purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and other shipping documents.
• Weigh outgoing shipments and verify shipping information for accuracy.
• Prepare and process shipments using UPS WorldShip or similar shipping software.
• Prepare and distribute required shipping documentation, including packing slips, shipping labels, and bills of lading.
• Configure, package, stage, and load customer products for shipment.
• Maintain accurate daily shipping logs and report inventory or shipment discrepancies.
• Record shipment weights and applicable shipping charges.
• Assist with company-related pickups and deliveries as needed.
• Properly label, stamp, stencil, or otherwise identify materials and shipments.
• Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow established quality, safety, and warehouse procedures.
• Interact professionally with outside delivery companies, carriers, and drivers.
• Perform other warehouse duties and special projects as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or similar environment preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
• Ability to identify materials based on markings, color codes, condition, and other specifications.
• Comfortable working with shipping documentation and interacting with outside carriers and drivers.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with UPS WorldShip or similar shipping software preferred.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace and support quality standards and audits.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy boxes and materials.
