Shipping Operator Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Hours: 9:00AM to 5:30PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday, with possible overtime necessary. Reports to: Shipping Manager Duties/Responsibilities:Pulls material from inventory to prepare for outgoing shipment.Palletizes and wraps outgoing shipments.Apply/remove product labels as needed. Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records.Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment to pull correct inventory to ship.Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
