Shipping, Logistics, Warehouse & Inventory Specialist

Our client is seeking a highly organized and hands-on Shipping, Logistics, Warehouse & Inventory Specialist to join their operations team. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional who enjoys balancing logistics coordination, inventory management, customer communication, and warehouse leadership responsibilities.

The successful candidate will oversee inbound and outbound shipping operations, maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate domestic and international freight, and help lead warehouse staff to ensure efficient and accurate operations. This position offers a diverse mix of office, warehouse, customer service, and logistics responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Logistics Coordination

• Manage inbound and outbound shipping activities, including domestic and international freight movements.
• Coordinate shipments to and from international locations.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, customs paperwork, bills of lading, and carrier records.
• Track shipments throughout the transportation process and proactively resolve delivery issues.
• Communicate with freight carriers, brokers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Coordinate carrier scheduling, freight pickups, and transportation logistics.
• Utilize shipping and carrier software to manage freight transactions and shipment status updates.

Inventory Management

• Own and maintain inventory accuracy across the warehouse operation.
• Oversee receiving activities and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Perform cycle counts and support periodic physical inventory audits.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP and WMS systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies for resolution.
• Manage parts and inventory items ranging in value from approximately $70 to $20,000.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and organization of inventory throughout the facility.

Warehouse Operations & Leadership

• Support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Lead, train, and provide direction to warehouse staff to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Promote safe warehouse practices and adherence to company procedures.
• Assist with workflow improvements and inventory control initiatives.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and effectively.

Customer Service & Communication

• Professionally respond to customer shipment inquiries and order status requests.
• Serve as a key point of contact between customers, vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
• Document part conditions with photographs prior to shipment when required.
• Provide updates regarding shipment schedules, delays, and delivery confirmations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience required.
• Prior office or customer-facing experience required.
• Experience coordinating freight shipments and working directly with transportation carriers.
• Strong understanding of inventory control processes, receiving procedures, and warehouse operations.
• Experience using ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with international shipping and customs documentation.
• Knowledge of freight logistics and carrier management best practices.
• Continuous improvement or process optimization experience.
