The Shipping & Logistics Manager will lead all daily shipping, receiving, and logistics operations for our facility. This role begins with managing a small team (12 people) and will grow as the business expands. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable balancing operational execution with team leadership and cross-department coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Build, train, and manage a small Shipping & Receiving team responsible for daily outbound and inbound activities.
Pull orders from finished-goods inventory, verify accuracy, wrap and label pallets/cartons, and load outbound trucks.
Receive inbound materials, unload trucks, verify receiving documentation, and place materials in proper storage locations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Logistics & Transportation
Quote and book transportation for all inbound and outbound shipments, including small parcel, LTL, TL, LCL, and CL.
Coordinate with freight forwarders to schedule shipments and prepare required import/export documentation.
Monitor shipment status, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Communicate product and timing requirements with Manufacturing and Packaging to ensure orders are fulfilled on schedule.
Work closely with Order Processing and Customer Service to ensure orders ship accurately, on time, and in full.
Learn the production process to serve as a backup to the Operations Manager when needed.
Work with company executives on special projects or tasks
E-Commerce Fulfillment
Support small-scale e-commerce order fulfillment, with the expectation that this area will grow over time.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Shipping, receiving, or transportation experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment required.
Familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping platforms; experience working with freight brokers is a plus.
Experience with EDI and ERP systems is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Forklift operation experience is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate: $24/hr-$30/hr (based on experience).
Paid Time Off:
2 weeks PTO per year, accrued at 3.08 hours per pay period (bi-weekly).
3 weeks PTO per year after 5 years of service.

Standard work expectation is approximately 40 hours per week with overtime available at times.
