Openwork is Hiring – Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

Location: Port Arthur, TX
Pay: $20–$24/hour, DOE
Schedule: Full-Time

Openwork is hiring a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to support daily shipping operations at a Port Arthur facility. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring DOT requirements are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate late or missed shipments with customers and Customer Service.

  • Prepare and email shipping paperwork, including COAs, to customers and drivers.

  • Weigh in/weigh out trucks and ISO containers.

  • Audit shipping paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and GMP compliance.

  • Update rejected loads and track demurrage, scheduling charges, and logistics fees.

  • Verify inventory and tank space availability.

  • Maintain placard and shipping sticker inventory.

  • Ensure DOT regulations are followed for each shipment.

  • Assist with training loaders and other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid TWIC card is required.

  • DOT Certification is a plus.

  • Strong computer and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently.

  • Must be punctual, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

  • Must be comfortable working inside a plant environment that is not climate controlled, as well as outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to wear required FRCs (Fire-Resistant Clothing) while working in the plant.

  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including FRC uniform, hard hat, safety-toe boots, safety glasses, and gloves.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs.
