Shipping Clerk

We are seeking a detail oriented Shipping Clerk to support one of our clients located in Strongsville, OH.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, documenting, transporting, and storing incoming materials in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.

 

Pay:
  • $18.50/hr
 
Shift:
  • M-F 10am-6:30pm
  • Training for the first few weeks from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents, while maintaining quality standards
  • Maintains company's quality standards and follows computer procedures to handle damaged material and quarantine material
  • Communicate with freight lines to schedule material deliveries
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
  • Unload delivery trucks using lift trucks or hand trucks
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together
  • Removes samples of materials and labels with identifying information
  • Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products
 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experience
  • Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must have tow motor experience and be able to successfully complete tow motor certification training
  • Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to read a micrometer
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved
