Shipping Clerk
Location: Catoosa, OK
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift
HireCall is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Shipping Clerk to join a manufacturing team in Catoosa, OK. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated multitasker with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk include loading and unloading units, preparing products for shipment, coordinating shipping documentation, and communicating potential supply issues to supervisors to help minimize production impacts.
Responsibilities
Prepare units for shipment, including wrapping, securing piping, and other shipping preparation.
Load units onto trucks using an overhead crane.
Coordinate with the Shipping Coordinator regarding loose items that need to be palletized, banded, and/or wrapped.
Verify documentation and ensure all required parts are included on pallets prior to shipment.
Operate a forklift on a daily basis.
Communicate potential supply or shipping issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of previous forklift and/or material handling experience required.
Previous shipping and receiving experience is a plus.
Basic reading skills required.
Strong verbal communication skills required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated history of excellent attendance.
Ability to complete required company safety training, including forklift and overhead crane training.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand and sit for extended periods, including up to the entire length of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate to heavy physical work.
Strong range of motion and the ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend.
Ability to walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to work in tight quarters when necessary.
Ability to read instructions and measuring devices.
Close vision, depth perception, attention to small details, and the ability to adjust focus may be required.
Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
