Shipping Clerk

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shipping Clerk to join a leading coatings production company in Akron, OH. This role is perfect for candidates with shipping experience who are looking to build a long-term career and take on additional responsibilities.

Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay
$22.00 per hour (raise to $23.00 after being hired by the customer)

Key Responsibilities
• Verify order accuracy and inspect products for damage
• Package and label various sized products for shipment, following DOT requirements
• Use computers to create shipping labels and documentation
• Operate shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) to track shipments and update customer orders
• Load trucks as needed (duties split among team members)
• Occasionally use a forklift to move or load products

Minimum Requirements
• Shipping experience with clerical and physical duties
• Computer skills, with familiarity using shipping software like UPS, FedEx, USPS preferred
• Experience with RF scanners is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic

Nice to Have Skills
• Forklift experience (not required, but a plus)
• Experience handling hazardous materials
• Good computer skills and familiarity with logistics software

Preferred Education and Experience
• Prior shipping or warehouse experience required
• Demonstrated longevity in previous roles (avoid multiple recent jobs or short-term positions)

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
