Shipping Associate
Job Location: Benicia, California
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $43,680 - $52,000/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am-3:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience in Shipping and Receiving? Our client in Benicia, CA is looking for an experienced Shipping Associate to join their team. This position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, pulling and inspecting inventory, safely packaging and palletizing products, and ensuring orders are shipped accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate has strong shipping and receiving experience, forklift and pallet jack experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pull, inspect, and verify orders against inventory
- Wrap, protect palletize, and crate products for shipment
- Use straps, foam, cardboard, and stretch wrap to safely protect freight
- Safely load and unload trucks using a forklift and pallet jack
- Prepare packing slips, pick tickets, and Bills of Lading (BOLs)
- Attach shipping documentation accurately to ongoing shipments
- Update shipping information in computer systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area
- Monitor shipping deadlines and communicate delays or issues to the Shipping Manager
- Communicate with carriers and customers when needed
- Direct and coordinate temporary shipping staff
- Work at a fast manufacturing pace while maintaining quality and accuracy

Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of shipping/receiving experience
- Experience handling palletized or crated freight
- Experience packaging large, custom, or non-uniform products preferred
- Furniture or similar product experience is a plus
- Forklift or pallet jack certification or hands on experience required
- Ability to read fixture drawings and interpret tape measurements down to 1/16"
- Basic computer skills and experience with shipping systems or spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safely
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse/manufacturing environment
- Ability to consistently use required safety equipment
