    Shipping & Receiving Team Member

     

    Summary:

    Prepares items for shipment and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Unloads and stacks material using forklift
    2. Loads or unloads materials both with forklift and by hand up to 50 lbs
    3. Replaces liquefied gas tank
    4. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items or incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.
    5. Affixes shipping labels on steel
    6. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
    7. Routes items to departments
    8. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
    9. Prepares customer bills of lading
    10. Stages finished product for shipment based on shipping schedule
    11. Loads finished product onto flatbed trucks for delivery to customers
    12. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
    13. Maintains clean workspace
    14. Perform other related duties as required

    Education and/or Experience

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

    Travel

    • This position requires minimal to no travel

    Computer Skills

    • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to learn an ERP system

    Other Requirements

    • Forklift Experience

    Other Skills

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    • Ability to read and interpret written documents
    • Use and read a tape measure
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
