Shipping/Receiving Operator – 1st Shift
HireCall Staffing Solutions is hiring a Shipping/Receiving Operator for a manufacturing facility at the Port of Catoosa, OK. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position for someone who is safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
Pay & Schedule
- Starting Pay: $18.00/hour
- Pay Increase: Immediate $1.00/hour increase upon successful completion of the temp assignment and transfer to company payroll
- Schedule: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday – Friday
- Overtime: As needed based on business demand
- Location: Port of Catoosa, OK
Job Duties
- Safely load and unload steel coils and other materials onto and off flatbed trailers and rail cars
- Safely maneuver material throughout the warehouse using an overhead crane or sit-down forklift
- Verify shipping documents for accuracy
- Perform quality control checks on materials being shipped
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a safety-first mindset
- Use basic hand and power tools, including wheel grinders, band cutters, and similar equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Ability to use and read a micrometer preferred; training available
- Strong attention to detail when following processes and completing documentation
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Basic knowledge and ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Overhead crane and forklift experience highly recommended, but not required
- Must be safety-conscious and aware at all times
- Basic computer skills for data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
- Previous shipping and receiving experience is highly preferred but not required
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the facility
- Must be flexible and available to work overtime as needed
Important Working Conditions
Please read carefully before applying: This is a physically intensive position in a non-climate-controlled environment. The position requires substantial walking throughout the shift.
- Overhead cranes are utilized 99% of the time
- This is NOT primarily a sit-down forklift position
- Employees must be comfortable working around steel coils, trailers, rail cars, and industrial equipment
- The position requires regular walking, standing, lifting, bending, and physical activity
- Safety procedures and PPE requirements must be followed at all times
