    Description

    The Shine Café is seeking a community-minded, energetic, and organized Café Manager to oversee our daily operations. Located within a vibrant, large church environment, our café serves as more than just a place for amazing coffee-it is a welcoming hub for fellowship and connection.

    In this role, you will manage day-to-day business operations while leading a unique team of paid staff and dedicated church volunteers. A central focus of this position is fostering an inclusive environment, as you will support and work alongside individuals with special needs. If you are passionate about hospitality, coffee, menu development, and ministry through service, we want you on our team.

    What you will be doing:

    • Manage all day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring high-quality service and a welcoming atmosphere.
    • Creating a robust menu including coffee drinks, lunch items and a variety of snacks.
    • Handle purchasing, inventory control, and supplier relationships to keep the café fully stocked and within budget.
    • Managing the point-of-sale (POS) system, tracking daily revenue, and finding ways to increase café traffic.
    • Recruit, train and schedule volunteers to run a small café with a large customer base.
    • Support the Blankenbaker Campus with large events and weekly services.
    • Maintain Food Service Safety Permits. Attend and pass required state trainings.

    What we are looking for:

    • Experience managing a café or other food service area and overseeing a budget.
    • Flexibility. Hours vary and change according to seasonal rhythms of the church.
    • Innovation to expand our current menu offerings, introducing new food and beverage items.
    • Strong leadership and organizational and interpersonal skills.

    Our Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • Experience within/around a large church environment.
    • Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.

    • Lives out staff expectations of groups, inviting, serving, worship, and giving.
