Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities 
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shipping and powder coat personnel.
  • Assign and prioritize daily work assignments to ensure production schedules and shipping deadlines are met. 
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and quality standards within both departments. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as business needs require. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when managing shipping yard operations. Capable of performing physical job duties as needed. 
  • Be assertive in direction.
  • Maintain a safe clean, and organized shipping yard and work areas at all times. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures. Stage and account for material before and after coating. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, verifying accuracy and timely delivery. Manage material flow between departments to support production requirements. Train, coach and develop employees to improve performance and maintain accountability. Communicate effectively with management, production teams, drivers, and customers as needed. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
 
Qualifications 
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, shipping, powder coating or a related industrial environment. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and effectively delegate work assignments. Tekla PowerFab experience. Knowledge of shipping, logistics, and material handling practices. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Forklift Certified preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 
Employees must be able to talk, hear, and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close and color vision and focus adjustment. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and explosives. Noise levels can be very loud, requiring ear protection.
