Current Team Members who demonstrate potential leadership characteristics may be selected by exempt management for the Shift Supervisor position. Under the direct supervision of exempt management, Shift Supervisors are introduced to various management responsibilities with the potential goal of sufficient leadership growth to support promotion to a management position. Unlike the Manager in Training Program, which is a highly structured eight (8) week full restaurant operations training program that results in a manager assignment upon successful completion, Shift Supervisors receive on-the-job training for specific but isolated management tasks and shift responsibilities. To maximize the effectiveness of Shift Supervisor development, Shift Supervisors are often scheduled to work during periods that overlap with exempt management personnel. As business needs dictate and to further isolate management skills development, a Shift Supervisor may be scheduled to independently work an open or close shift.
