    Reports To: Facility Director / Assistant Facility Director
    Location: Kissimmee, FL

    Position Overview
    The Shift Supervisor serves as the acting facility lead during assigned shifts in the absence of the Facility Director and/or Assistant Facility Director. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a secure work release environment, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
     
    The Shift Supervisor supports staff and clients while maintaining order, accountability, and operational continuity within the facility.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as operational needs require.
    • Act as facility supervisor during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations
    • Enforce policies, procedures, and emergency protocols
    • Supervise Corrections Technicians and coordinate shift activities
    • Maintain safety, security, and welfare of clients, staff, and visitors
    • Conduct facility inspections, client counts, and contraband searches
    • Monitor and document client movement, behavior, and compliance
    • Complete incident reports, logs, and required documentation accurately
    • Conduct intake processing for new clients, including system entry and file creation
    • Monitor client activities including meals, work assignments, recreation, and visitation
    • Identify and respond appropriately to medical or behavioral concerns
    • Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress or emergency situations
    • Participate in required trainings and staff meetings
    • Ensure compliance with all safety and operational standards
    Required Qualifications
    Education
    • High School Diploma or GED
    Experience
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with incarcerated or criminal justice-involved populations
    • Experience in corrections, reentry services, behavioral health, or related field
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage high-stress situations with composure
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to interpret and enforce policies and procedures
    • Strong attention to detail in documentation and reporting
    • Team-oriented mindset with leadership capability during shifts
    Licenses / Certifications
    • Valid Florida driver’s license
    • Must pass background screening and receive approval from the Florida Department of Corrections
    Preferred Qualifications
    • College coursework in criminal justice, criminology, psychology, social work, or related field
    • Prior law enforcement or correctional supervision experience
    • Additional training or certifications related to corrections or behavioral management
    Work Environment
    This position operates within a secure correctional or residential reentry facility and involves a physically and mentally demanding environment.
    Responsibilities may include:
    • Working within a structured, secure facility
    • Exposure to potentially hazardous or high-stress situations
    • Interaction with individuals involved in the criminal justice system
    • Standing, walking, and physical activity for extended periods
    • Completing documentation and operating within electronic systems

    Schedule Expectations
    This position requires a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, typically 3–4 days per week.
    Examples may include:
    • Day and overnight shifts
    • Weekends and holidays
