The Shift Manufacturing Supervisor leads day-to-day welding and fabrication operations, helping the team meet safety, quality, and production goals. You’ll guide production leads, welders, fabricators, and support staff; keep work moving efficiently; and make sure people have the materials, tools, and equipment they need. You’ll also work closely with management and other departments to address issues, improve processes, and support a strong, collaborative shop floor.

    What you’ll do

    • Supervise daily operations and help the department meet production targets.
    • Own the department’s Key Performance Initiatives (KPIs): maintain real-time tracking, take action to recover when results fall behind, and lead improvements in areas of concern.
    • Make sure materials, tools, and equipment are available and in good working order. Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to reduce downtime.
    • Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate production leads. Provide clear feedback to support their development and improve performance.
    • Stay visible on the production floor, coaching in real time and checking in regularly with leads to clarify priorities and targets.
    • Keep staffing aligned with production needs. Flex labor in real time to address bottlenecks and maintain a balanced workflow.
    • Lead daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) meetings with direct reports, Engineering, Planning, and Management. Co-lead shift huddles, communicate priorities, and raise issues to cross-functional teams.
    • Oversee quality on the shift by reinforcing work instructions, owning corrective actions, and escalating high-impact issues.
    • Enforce and audit quality and safety policies, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
    • Coordinate shift handoffs to support a smooth transition and continuity between first and second shifts.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety and quality incidents.
    • Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

    What you’ll bring
