Shift Manager Operations

Location Cleveland OHCleveland-Cliffs Steel LLC has immediate openings for Shift Manager Operations positions at our Cleveland OH plant. This front-line leadership role is responsible for coordinating safety and quality activities leading hourly employees and overseeing production operations to ensure safe efficient and reliable performance.The Shift Manager serves as a key link between hourly personnel maintenance and leadership to ensure safe efficient and reliable operations in a 247 manufacturing environment.Summary of ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all safety environmental and quality standards conduct safety quality and environmental audits in a timely manner.Provide clear direction to employees and maintain accountability for adherence to safety rules environmental requirements and job procedures.Monitor operating conditions and work with production and maintenance teams to address operational issues and drive safe efficient performance.Schedule supervise and lead hourly operating and maintenance personnel working directly with employees on the shop floor and from the Shift Managers office.Train coach and develop employees while fostering a fair and respectful work environment focused on safety teamwork and production excellence.Collaborate with maintenance teams planners and schedulers to prioritize corrective and preventive maintenance activities.Make timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and escalate issues when appropriate.Identify opportunities for improvement and support initiatives that enhance reliability quality safety and productivity.Coordinate with employees contractors and other departments to support production and maintenance activities.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma GED or equivalent from an accredited school.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing industrial military or other relevant operations environment.Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays within a 247 operating environment extended hours as needed.Ability to work in a hot dusty industrial environment and perform physical requirements including climbing stairs and ladders walking on uneven surfaces and working outdoors in all weather conditions.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and exposure to databases.Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Preferred QualificationsAssociates or Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.Three or more years of leadership experience in a unionized heavy industrial or military environment with responsibility for workforce accountability performance management and operational communication.Prior steel mill experience strongly preferred.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 70000 to 110000.
