PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMorning Opening & Store Setup
Punctual Store Opening: Arrive early and dependably to open the building, turn on equipment, set up registers, line stations, dining room, and kitchen so the store is 100% operational by 9:59 AM
Precision Baking & Prep: Bake fresh bread, cookies, and brownies according to strict recipe standards; cook bacon; brew iced tea; stock chips, coolers, and prep stations with high attention to detail
Master Slicing & Ingredient Quality: Safely operate the mechanical slicer to prep fresh meats and cheeses daily, slice produce to exact specifications, and ensure all food meets Jersey Mike''s premium quality standards
Organization & Food Safety: Complete opening checklists with accuracy, log food safety temperature checks, rotate stock (FIFO), and keep prep areas, walk-ins, and dry storage neat and organized
Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain spotless prep workstations, wash and sanitize utensils/dishes, and ensure the restaurant is clean, stocked, and inviting inside and out before doors open
Daytime Customer Service & Store Execution
Sub Preparation: Craft signature cold subs and hot cheesesteaks "The Mike''s Way" during high-volume lunch rushes with speed, precision, and accuracy
Guest Hospitality: Welcome customers with a genuine smile, record orders, accept payments accurately on the POS system, and deliver an exceptional guest experience
Station Maintenance: Keep line stations clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift to keep the lunch rush running smoothly
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old (required to open the store and operate mechanical slicers/equipment per federal law and store operations)
Key Skills: High level of organization, attention to detail, and pride in quality execution
Availability: Early morning availability Monday through Sunday, including weekend shifts to support peak store hours
Punctuality & Reliability: Exceptional attendance, strong work ethic, and dedication to opening the store on time every single day
Attitude: Energetic, friendly, coachable, dependable, and eager to connect with guests and team members
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work with urgency in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 40 lbs
Experience: Previous restaurant prep, opening, or customer service experience preferred, but not required-we provide full paid training!
