We are currently seeking experienced Sheet Metal Foremen and Lead Mechanics to join our team in Charlottesville, VA . If you are a motivated leader who takes pride in your work and enjoys guiding others, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead the installation and repair of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at every stage of the project.

What You'll Do

Lead Mechanic Responsibilities

Provide hands-on leadership to field crews from project layout through final installation and testing

Install and oversee installation of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems according to blueprints and specifications

Read and interpret drawings and P&ID schematics

Work independently and collaboratively with team members

Guide and mentor mechanics and apprentices in the field

Foreman Responsibilities

Lead fabrication, assembly, and installation of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems

Manage crews and coordinate daily jobsite activities

Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards

Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders

Build strong working relationships with crews, clients, and partners

Supervise apprentices, mechanics, lead mechanics, and journeymen

Maintain focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project

Support additional project needs and responsibilities as required

What We're Looking For

Lead Mechanic

Minimum of 5 years of sheet metal experience

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Strong leadership and teamwork skills

Foreman

Minimum of 8 years of sheet metal experience

Proven experience leading commercial HVAC projects

Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills

All Candidates

Must have required hand tools for the trade

Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Must pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checks as required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on leadership role in a commercial construction environment. You can expect:

Work in indoor and outdoor jobsite conditions with varying weather

Frequent standing, climbing, bending, and lifting

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Occasional driving between job sites

Exposure to construction materials, tools, and equipment
