    Sheet Metal Welder

    Essential Responsibilities

    •    MIG weld sheet metal ranging from 16-gauge through ¾-inch plate.
    •    Roll and form parts prior to fabrication and assembly.
    •    Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings.
    •    Operate hand brakes or hydraulic press brakes when qualified.
    •    Use tape measures, calipers, protractors, and other fabrication tools accurately.
    •    Convert fractions to decimals and measure to 1/32-inch precision.
    •    Complete assigned work on time and to established quality standards.
    •    Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety policies and procedures.
    •    Assist team members and support production goals as needed.
    Required Qualifications
    •    Minimum one year of related welding or fabrication experience; two or more years preferred.
    •    Strong MIG welding skills.
    •    Ability to interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and written and verbal instructions.
    •    Ability to perform basic math conversions and measurements accurately.
    •    Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    •    Ability to work safely in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
    Preferred Qualifications and Equipment Experience
    •    High school diploma or GED.
    •    Experience operating hand brakes or hydraulic press brakes.
    •    Experience operating ironworkers, such as Geka or Piranha.
    •    Familiarity with spot tack machines, band saws, drill presses, oxy-acetylene torches, drills, and saws.
    •    Ability to operate at least one fabrication machine with minimal supervision.
    Weld Test Requirements
    Applicants must successfully complete a butt weld and T-joint weld test. Candidates must bring their own welding helmet, hammer, and vise grips.

    Working Conditions
    •    Physical demands: Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    •    Environment: Exposure to dust, loud noise, and temperatures ranging from approximately 20°F to 102°F.
    •    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with overtime until approximately 4:30 p.m. as production needs require. Occasional Saturday work may be required. Employees typically work approximately 40–46 hours per week.
