Sheet Metal Machine Operator

Smart Trades is hiring an experienced Sheet Metal Machinist for a manufacturing facility in North Salt Lake, UT! This position involves operating sheet metal fabrication equipment, interpreting blueprints, and producing precision metal components according to established specifications. Candidates with experience in sheet metal fabrication, CNC laser cutting, or industrial machining are encouraged to apply!

Location: North Salt Lake, UT

Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $18-$25 DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sheet metal fabrication machinery, including laser cutters and other production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate manufacturing of parts.
• Manufacture sheet metal components efficiently while meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
• Perform routine quality inspections to verify dimensions, specifications, and overall workmanship.
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in sheet metal machining, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing position required.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.

• Experience operating sheet metal fabrication machinery.

• Knowledge of machining processes, equipment setup, and metal fabrication techniques.

• Ability to use measuring tools to verify part dimensions and specifications.

• Ability to identify and troubleshoot common machining and production issues.
