    Description

Lead the Cutting & Forming Floor at Argon

Picture your day beginning with a quick safety huddle on the fabrication floor. You walk the line of lasers, turrets, and press brakes—checking that materials are staged, fixtures and tooling are ready, and the team is set for a productive shift. You open the Foreman’s Report and the ERP queue (JobBOSS) to align priorities, then scan yesterday’s Time Variance Reports to spot trends and opportunities. You set the tone: safe, precise, organized, and focused.

    What You'll Do

    • Champion Argon’s safety, quality, and production standards—every task, every time.
    • Maintain ISO discipline: follow QAPs and work instructions; ensure proper use of inspection tools to verify results.
    • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, guiding your team on specifications and critical features.
    • Keep the area audit-ready: housekeeping and organization are part of the daily routine.
    • Identify risks early and correct course quickly; bring forward ideas for process, policy, and procedure improvements.

    Operational Leadership

    • Maximize direct labor efficiency and indirect labor productivity using data, including daily analysis of Time Variance Reports.
    • Own the schedule using the Foreman’s Report and ERP—expedite across departments, allocate resources, and remove roadblocks.
    • Plan and stage materials, skids, boxes, fixtures, stays, and tooling so work starts on time.
    • Coordinate staffing and overtime to meet demand; communicate priorities and changes via email, meetings, and the floor.

    People Management

    • Train, coach, and hold the team accountable to Argon procedures: Safety, Job Travelers, JobBOSS transactions, programs, schedules, issuing materials, problem identification, process improvements, quantity discrepancy handling, and skids/packaging.
    • Build morale and develop talent—assess performance, address issues, and grow skills.
    • Review, correct, and approve daily attendance and job records.

    Quality & Equipment

    • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections as needed.
    • Know the equipment in your area: lasers, turrets, and press brakes.
    • Bonus impact: perform basic machine maintenance, document it, and escalate any issues immediately to your supervisor.
    • Step in to set up and operate equipment in your area when necessary.

    What You Bring

    • Proven leadership and people management.
    • Lean manufacturing mindset with a track record of coaching and mentoring.
    • Fluency with ERP software (e.g., JobBOSS).
    • Ability to read blueprints and apply ISO-compliant inspection methods.

Housekeeping and “all other duties as assigned” are part of how you help the team win each day.
