Responsibilities
- Upon receipt of the material:
- lnspect and verify all P. O. specifications as specified in the Quality Manual
- Move and neatly store and maintain the proper identity
- Enter incoming and usage data into the computer to maintain a continuously updated inventory.
Shear metal sheets as scheduled by Production Control.
- Set-up the shear to dimensions specified on the job card.
- Move required material from and to the storage area using forklift type equipment and the assistance o fa helper as necessary.
- Instruct the Helper/Trainee (if assigned) in the use of proper stacking and safety equipment.
- Shear the required quantities and inspect the required dimensions to the frequency established by Quality Control.
- Identify the sheared material and properly store in racks provided.
- Collaborate with Press Room Set-up personnel in the release and return of sheared material.
- Manage the movement, storage, and identiy, of unsheared and sheared material as
specified in the company standard procedures such as the Quality Control Manual, the Safety Manual and the Employee Handbook. - Instruct Helpers/Trainees as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Skilled in simple shop math
- Has normal communication skills
- Skilled in use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers)
- Familiar with company policies and procedures such as the Quality Control
- Manual, the Safety Manual and the Employee Handbook
- Familiar with company practices regarding raw material types, tempers, tolerances, and material handling and packaging
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience required will vary depending on other qualifications
