Typical Responsibilities

• 
  Set up and operate mechanical, hydraulic, or CNC shears.
  
• 
  Load and position raw materials safely.
  
• 
  Read blueprints, work orders, and measurement specifications.
  
• 
  Measure materials using tape measures, calipers, or other precision tools.
  
• 
  Adjust machine settings for thickness, length, and cut requirements.
  
• 
  Inspect finished pieces for dimensions, quality, and defects.
  
• 
  Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  
• 
  Follow PPE, lockout/tagout, and other workplace safety procedures.
  
  Record production quantities and material usage.
