Description

 We are seeking a 1st Shift Shear Machine Operator for a client located in Anderson, SC.  Responsibilities
  • Work overtime, other shifts/hours/days and run other jobs as assigned. Although you are assigned a “normal” job title and schedule, we require versatility in order to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the job. 
  • Understand and follow instruction, including prescribed work methods. Respond appropriately to direction and interact well with others. Work well independently and on a team. 
  • Perform work and make decisions in a timely manner. Include the appropriate people and information in the decision-making process. Ask for help if needed and help others. 
  • Follow safety guidelines. Work safely and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job which you are performing. Report safety incidents or concerns immediately, taking corrective action when appropriate. 
  • Ensure quality of product by following established work methods and procedures including inspection, quality checks, and documentation. 
  • Accurately record data manually and in systems as required.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the machine.
  • Setup and operate machines according to spec sheets and/or quality alerts.
  • Follow instructions regarding product requirements (Machine specs, Machine Set-up).
  • Perform production as instructed.
  • Perform process/product inspections as instructed.
  • Perform change-over and style change duties.
  • Observe machine operations for evidence of malfunction and products for defects.
  • Follow cleaning and preventative maintenance instructions.
  • Repair minor machine mechanical issues.
  • Escalate major repairs to supervisor for assistance.
  • Follow scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Request necessary supplies or tools required for the job.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • May be required to take CPR/First Aid/AED or HAZWOPER training if placed on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Use of respirator is not normally required but may be necessary if working in a Chemical Plant.
Requirements
  • Problem solving and prioritization skills. Willingness to make decisions. 
  • Good vision to distinguish defects, read documentation.
  • Written and spoken communication skills to record data, read instructions. 
  • Ability to read tape measure and record data correctly, both written and within systems (data entry).
  • Fine finger movement necessary to work with yarns, knobs, controls.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, on platforms, and remain in awkward positions when performing set-up or certain tasks. Must reach, twist, bend, push, pull, stoop. 
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift. 
  • Ability to hear emergency warnings and moving manufacturing equipment for safety purposes.
  • Understanding of professional conduct and appropriate interaction with others. 
  • Ability to lead and influence others. Ability to understand business needs and communicate necessary actions, effectively leading others. 
  • Willingness to learn new things. 
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to climb to and work from heights up to 15 feet tall.
 Shift: 1st Shift-M-F, 8am-4pmPay: $19.67/hr
