Salary / Pay Rate: $70–$95/hr depending on experience

Why Work Here
This is a strong opportunity to join an established organization that takes its technology infrastructure seriously and invests in the people who support it. The team culture is collaborative and solutions-oriented, with leadership that appreciates engineers who can operate independently and bring both technical depth and strategic thinking to their work. You will have real visibility into how the platform is used across the business and genuine input into how it evolves. For someone who enjoys owning a platform end-to-end — not just maintaining it but shaping it — this role offers that scope. The potential for the engagement to extend or convert makes it an especially worthwhile opportunity for the right candidate.
About the Role
This senior-level role blends hands-on SharePoint development with platform administration responsibilities, making it well suited for someone who is equally comfortable writing custom code and managing governance policies. The position covers the full lifecycle of SharePoint solutions — from architecture and site configuration to integrations with Microsoft 365 and Azure services — as well as day-to-day administration including user management, performance monitoring, and end-user support. The role also involves extending platform functionality using tools like SPFx, Power Platform, and .NET, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Strong communication skills are just as important here as technical ability, given the cross-functional nature of the work.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain the SharePoint environment including servers, services, and databases to support optimal performance and availability
  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions to ensure appropriate access controls and site security
  • Set up and administer SharePoint sites, document libraries, content types, and workflows, implementing custom solutions to address business needs
  • Monitor system health, perform regular backups, and troubleshoot issues to maintain data integrity and platform stability
  • Optimize SharePoint solutions for performance, scalability, and security, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements
  • Support SharePoint migrations, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of existing applications
  • Integrate SharePoint with enterprise systems and third-party applications including Microsoft 365 and Azure services
  • Develop and extend platform functionality using SPFx, Power Platform, REST APIs, and front-end technologies
  • Provide technical support and conduct training sessions to help end-users work effectively within the platform
  • Develop and enforce governance policies, analyze usage trends, and report on platform activity to leadership
  • Stay current on SharePoint features and best practices to inform strategic platform decisions
Required Skills
  • Deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, features, and best practices across both on-premises and SharePoint Online environments
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online including SPFx development and REST API integration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform, including PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Experience with front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related libraries such as jQuery or React
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services and how they integrate with SharePoint
  • Experience with version control systems and development tools including Visual Studio and Azure DevOps
  • Strong background in security management including user permissions, access controls, and security zones
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience (10+ years)
Bonus / Soft Skills
  • Experience supporting or leading SharePoint migration projects
  • Background in governance policy development and platform usage reporting
  • Familiarity with .NET development in the context of SharePoint customization
  • Experience providing end-user training or developing platform documentation
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with an interest in aligning platform capabilities to broader business goals
