POSITION SUMMARY
As a Shade Structure Installation Specialist, you will join a skilled and dynamic team where your talents are truly valued. In this role, you'll be involved in planning, laying out, and installing various types of structures, including but not limited to shelters, shade sails, pergolas, amphitheaters and arbors, as well as athletic and park equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participation and compliance in a work safety program
  • Drilling or digging holes for footings
  • Building rebar cages
  • Pouring and finishing concrete footings
  • Carrying materials in excess of 50 pounds
  • Climbing ladders to heights of 15 feet or more and performing work activities at these heights
  • Installing structural steel columns and beams
  • Repeated lifting of materials (wood, sheet metal panels, etc.)
  • Installing wood tongue and groove roof decking
  • Installing metal rib / standing seam metal roofing systems and
  • Taking measurements and accurately cutting materials to fit
  • Reading site plans and blueprints
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any installation challenges on-site
  • Providing exceptional and professional customer service
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including job sites and company vehicles
  • Working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to understand and follow simple verbal instructions
  • Desire to learn
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Ability to perform tasks outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Knowledge of common tools and materials used for construction and maintenance work is highly desired
  • Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled installation tasks
  • Must wear work-appropriate clothing (steel toed shoes, pants, hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves, etc.)
  • Ability to work on uneven terrain and in general construction areas
  • Ability to travel on occasion for out of town jobs

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience or training in construction or a trade is desired (structural ironwork, sheet metal work)
  • Experience using various hand tools and equipment, taking safety rules into consideration

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds or more. Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time and be able to work at heights for the duration of a workday.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT USED
Motorized vehicles and equipment, which may include mechanical hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment. May occasionally operate motor vehicles including pick-up trucks. Ability to operate or utilize all general construction equipment, including shovels, demo saws, drills, hand tools, wheelbarrows etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequent work is performed around moving heavy equipment. Exposure to materials and heavy equipment that could cause personal injury if safety rules are not followed.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENT
The candidate must be able to provide their own reliable transportation to job sites, as the position involves traveling to different locations.

BENEFITS
Wages are dependent on experience and range from $20.00-$32.00/Hour. After 60 day waiting period, eligible for medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D. Paid sick time, paid holidays.
