This role will focus on supporting day-to-day file transfer operations, troubleshooting failed transfers, monitoring file movement across systems, and enhancing existing processes through scripting and automation. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on SFTP or Managed File Transfer experience and is comfortable tracing files across servers, reviewing logs, identifying failures, and supporting production issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot high-volume SFTP and secure file transfer processes across multiple business applications and environments.
  • Monitor file transfers and investigate failed or delayed files by reviewing workflows, scripts, services, and logs.
  • Support existing SecureFX and VShell file transfer processes or similar enterprise SFTP/MFT platforms.
  • Support Sterling Connect processes used to transfer files between Windows/non-host and mainframe environments.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell, VBScript, or similar scripting used to automate and enhance file transfer processes.
  • Support Tomcat-based applications and backend processes within the SFTP environment.
  • Assist with automated SFTP cleanup processes and other operational improvements.
  • Troubleshoot Windows Server services and application issues impacting file transfers.
  • Support production issues and participate in an on-call rotation after becoming familiar with the environment.
  • Partner with developers and subject matter experts to maintain the stability and reliability of critical file transfer integrations.

Required Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant IT, application support, development, integration, or file transfer experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SFTP and/or Managed File Transfer (MFT) environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting file transfers, workflows, scripts, logs, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience with an enterprise file transfer platform such as SecureFX, MOVEit, Sterling, GoAnywhere, Axway, Globalscape/EFT, or similar technology.
  • Experience with Sterling Connect or similar enterprise file transfer/integration technology.
  • Experience working with Tomcat and backend application processes.
  • Scripting or automation experience, preferably PowerShell, VBScript, or similar.
  • Experience working within Windows-based server environments.

Nice to Have

  • SecureFX and VShell experience.
  • Sterling MFT experience.
  • Splunk experience for monitoring, alerting, and log analysis.
  • Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Java/JRE knowledge or experience supporting Java-based applications.
  • Experience supporting high-volume or business-critical file transfer environments.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands how files move between systems and can troubleshoot when something goes wrong. You should be comfortable tracing a file from one server or application to another, reviewing logs and scripts to identify where a process failed, and determining the appropriate next steps to resolve the issue.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills are important, along with the ability to work independently while collaborating with developers, business partners, and subject matter experts in a production support environment.
